Aperture Blur Straight Images

Aperture Blur
For this project, we need to explore using a different range of depth of fields to add dimension to images and to also pull certain things in focus within the images. As this is our aim, there isn't a particular thing that we have to photograph; It can be anything as long as there is a depth of field within the image.

Top 5 Images
There is not real link to all of these images as I wanted to take a range of different pictures to portray aperture blur in as many ways as possible with different subjects.

This first image is of, simply, a cat. I took this image spontaneously so there are no images similar within the contact sheets. This is my favorite image out of all of the pictures that I have taken for this project. The background is severely blurred which draws attention to the focal point which is the cat's eye.

This next image is of a girl looking out of frame. This image bares similarity to the previous image of the cat and almost mirrors it. This was not intentional but something I noticed when looking over all of my images. The background is also blurred severely which again bring attention to the focal point which is eye of the model.

This next image is my least favorite image as I personally don't find it very interesting. The image is of a leg crossed over another; only one leg is in frame. Even though the image may not have any connotative features, I included it in the top 5 as I feel that it shows the subject matter perfectly with the blurred background.
This next image is of a hand holding a cigarette. There is a clear focal point and a clear background to this image which is the reason why I used it in my top 5. There is however a lot of excess background which I will crop out of the image when editing.

This final image shows three people standing in a diagonal line. This image was shot with a shallow depth of field allowing for only one of the people to be in focus. I choose for the person to the left to be in focus and the others slightly blurred to show the different depth of fields within the image.
